Originally, the AIC membership was strictly comprised of private equity firms. Over time the Council found that specific service providers share in the legislative, regulatory, and public affairs concerns of the private equity and growth capital industry. Therefore in March of 2013 the Council added a new membership class for service providers that work regularly with private equity firms. Currently this class of membership is available to law, accounting, and valuation firms only; however, the Council anticipates opening eligibility to other service providers in the future. This expansion of the Council’s membership enables the AIC to further unify stakeholders and tell the story of the private equity industry in a more impactful way.
