On Wednesday, March 4th, the PEGCC hosted a CEO Capitol Hill Day in Washington, DC, with Chris Abraham, CEO of Service King, a portfolio company of PEGCC member firms The Blackstone Group and The Carlyle Group. The day was spent on Capitol Hill educating Members of Congress, including Representatives Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Diane Black (R-TN-06) and Derek Kilmer (D-WA-06), along with key Congressional staffers in five additional offices, on the important role private equity plays in job creation and economic development. Mr. Abraham specifically discussed his company’s success and rapid growth from 1,000 employees to more than 5,000 employees in the three years they have been supported by a private equity investment, and their prospects for continued growth in the coming years.
