The Council held its Chief Financial Officers Day on June 25 at Associate Member Deloitte’s New York offices. The day began with a CFO-only lunch conversation on advancing the CFO as a C-Suite leader. Three panels followed, each of which featured a Member firm CFO as moderator and leaders from our Associate Member firms as panelists.

The first panel, titled, “Regulation: The SEC and Beyond,” discussed the current regulatory environment and best practices for CFOs. Past SEC exams, future areas of SEC exam focus, and other relevant regulatory issues were discussed by the panelists.

The focus then shifted to technology. Best practices for CFOs in automating processes at the firm level were discussed, and panelists debated the use of automation to collect and distribute portfolio company information. Trends in managing books and LP requests were also reviewed.

The last panel of the day, “Connecting the dots on Mergers and Acquisitions” covered a range of topics related to M&A transactions, including strategic due diligence, deal structuring, as well as tax and operations considerations.

The day concluded with a reception held by Deloitte.
