Brad Bailey is the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at the American Investment Council (AIC), an advocacy and research organization representing the private equity industry and promoting its successful record of investing across every state in the country. Mr. Bailey leads AIC’s advocacy efforts at the state and federal level on a range of policy issues that impact the industry. He also works with regulators at the state and federal level.

Mr. Bailey joined AIC from the U.S. Department of Treasury, where he served as the Acting Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs. In that role, he was the Department’s chief liaison with Congress on issues that included domestic and international finance, tax policy and sanctions. At Treasury, he also worked with Congress on passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Before joining the Treasury Department, Mr. Bailey was a senior advisor to former House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and his hometown Congressman, Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. Mr. Bailey served as Speaker’s policy advisor on tax, trade and financial services issues from 2013 until Mr. Boehner retired in 2015.

Mr. Bailey holds a B.S. in Finance from Miami University located in Oxford, Ohio and a J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.
