TUNE IN: AIC & Punchbowl News Host Event on Private Capital Investment in Renewable Energy & Infrastructure

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, October 6 at 2:30 PM ET, the American Investment Council will host a virtual conversation with Punchbowl News on the role private capital is playing to spur investment in renewable energy and infrastructure industries.

As global leaders work to address the crisis, today’s private equity firms are investing billions in capital into fast-growing clean energy sectors such as solar, carbon capture, and battery storage. Last year alone, private equity invested nearly $24 billion in renewable energy companies – a four-fold increase over 2019. So far in 2021, global investors have already closed as many climate-focused funds as were raised during the previous five years combined.

Punchbowl News Founder Anna Palmer will interview Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE) in a one-on-one conversation about the role private capital is playing to spur investment in renewable energy and infrastructure industries. Afterward, Drew Maloney, President & CEO of AIC, and Steve Luker, CEO of Catalyze, a private equity-backed solar energy company, will join Anna for a fireside conversation. The event is the second in a two-part series on “Investing in America” looking at how private capital is helping boost the U.S. economy.
