Washington, D.C. – Today, the American Investment Council announced Caitlin Carroll as the organization’s new Senior Vice President of Public Affairs.
Will Dunham, President and CEO of the American Investment Council, released the following statement:
“Caitlin’s communications experience spans Fortune 100 companies, Capitol Hill policymaking, and state-level healthcare advocacy, making her exceptionally well positioned to lead AIC’s communications efforts. Her deep understanding of the policy landscape in Washington and beyond will be crucial as AIC continues to tell the story of how private investment fuels innovation, supports millions of jobs, and delivers reliable returns for Americans saving for retirement.”
Carroll joins AIC from Weber Shandwick, where she has served as a Senior Vice President of Public Affairs since 2022. During her tenure at the firm, she was a trusted partner to Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits, and higher education institutions.
Prior to this role, Carroll spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill, where she most recently led communications for Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) during his tenure as ranking member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Carroll developed significant experience crafting media strategies and executing rapid response on topics of high national concern, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Operation Warp Speed, COVID-19 federal spending oversight, the F.D.A.’s baby formula shortage, and prescription drug pricing.
Earlier in her career, Carroll led state-level communications efforts in key regions for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), one of America’s largest healthcare focused trade associations. Carroll was also the communications director for the Republican Study Committee and the press secretary for the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
Carroll will play a key role in AIC’s public affairs and media relations efforts, working to educate bipartisan policymakers on how the private equity and private credit industry strengthens small businesses, supports job creation, and fuels American innovation.
